Family Child Care Start-Up Workshop(English)

New or experienced Family Child Care Home providers are invited to learn how to set up family and payment contracts, work positively with parents and Community Care Licensing, protect their assets, and discuss whether or not providers need special insurance for their day care facility. Participants will receive useful resources!

Proveedores nuevos o con experiencia de cuidado infantil en el hogar aprenderán cómo establecer contratos con familias, contratos de pago, trabajar positivamente con los padres y el Programa de Licencias de Cuidado Infantil (CCL por sus siglas en inglés), proteger sus bienes, y hablar sobre si los proveedores necesitan un seguro especial para su negocio o no. ¡Los participantes recibirán recursos útiles!

Trauma Informed Care-Giving Module 1

Presented by the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program

Learn to define trauma and recognize the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and what we can do to help children heal, cope, and promote resilience-building practices. Child Care Providers will learn about early childhood trauma and how it effects child development and behavior including children in foster care. You will learn the most meaningful skills that can be used in your everyday work to promote better health and brighter futures.

This training is module 1 of a 2 part series.  In order to receive a certificate for completion, you must complete both modules.  Module 2 will be offered January 26, 2019.  Registration details coming soon.

Trauma Informed Care-Giving Module 2

Presented by the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program

Learn ways to take better care of yourself, using preventative self-care strategies, so that you may strengthen your capacity to manage and handle children who have a history of trauma.  Child care providers are invited to explore their own self-care strategies, reflect on their strengths, and learn new ways to cope with stress. You will be given the tools to add to your self-care tool box, and the opportunity to share your own strategies with others.

This training is module 2 of a 2 part series.  In order to receive a certificate for completion, you must complete both modules.  Module 1 is being offered December 8, 2018.
