In this workshop, parents and providers will strengthen their understanding of discipline and appropriate limits, learn effective appropriate guidance techniques, and expand their understanding of developmental needs and age-appropriate behaviors.

Providers will learn how to support cognitive development and mathematical understanding for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Participants will engage in activities that focus on symbolic play, number sense, classification, measurement, and shapes.

Social-Emotional Development of Young Children

This workshop will highlight the social-emotional milestones of infant, toddler, and preschool aged children. Participants will discuss learning environments, the development of self in young children, and the role of social interactions. Providers will have an opportunity to share their experiences and successful activities with each other.

Starting Up Your Family Child Care Business

This two hour workshop offers an overview of the day-to-day operation of a family child care home. Participants will also learn about Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP), a free program to help people who are interested in becoming child care providers obtain their license and build the capacity and quality of their business.
